Mike Holmes At The 2014 Kinsmen Riverview Lottery Home

Mike Holmes was in Saskatoon today, helping to promote the 2014 Kinsmen Riverview Lottery Home. If you're like me, the first thing that ran through your mind when you read that was "Kinsmen, river, lottery, what?" Allow me to explain. The Kinsmen Riverview Home Lottery is a lottery in which people buy tickets in hopes of winning a beautiful home . In this case, the home is a Holmes Approved Home built by home builder Lexis Homes, appraised at $1.15 million, and wow is it beautiful! The proceeds of the home lottery go to help local charities and organizations. For more information, visit the Kinsmen Riverview Home Lottery website. Check out these gorgeous photos of the home:

Mike Holmes announced that he would be at the home today on his Facebook page:

Kinsmen Club hopes Mike Holmes’ approval of Saskatoon lottery home boosts ticket sales

Morgan Modjeski/Metro Celebrity contractor Mike Holmes, left, can be with lottery chair Arthur Cradock, outside of the Kinsmen Riverfront Home Lottery showhome on Thursday morning. Holmes was in Saskatoon to do a final inspection of the home and he gave the 3,200 sq. ft. residence the stamp of approval.

The Kinsmen Riverfront Home Lottery show home has received a thumbs-up from one of the building industry’s best-known contractors.
Celebrity contractor Mike Holmes was in Saskatoon on Thursday to do his final inspection of the Kinsmen RiverFront Home Lottery showhome and organizers hope his stamp of approval means higher ticket sales for the organization.
“Obviously we want him to draw more people out to the house, check it and be part of what’s going on,” said lottery chair, Arthur Cradock.
“Having someone like Mike approve the home and give us that higher level of standard really shows that what we’re all about is building a quality product.”
“We don’t want to just go out there and run a lottery for the sake of running a lottery, we want to make sure that the final product, at the end of the day, is quality.”
Valued at $1.15 million and built by Lexis Homes in Saskatoon, organizers say tickets for the lottery are selling quickly and explained proceeds will go directly back into making Saskatoon a stronger community.
“We’re all about serving the community’s greatest need, so anyway we can get everyone out and interested in this house is a benefit for the whole city,” Cradock said.
In the past, the proceeds from the lottery have helped organizations like the Friends of the Bowl campaign, Read Saskatoon and CHEP Good Food Inc. alongside programs offered by the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon.
Holmes himself has a message for the eventual winners.
“To win a Holmes-approved home built this good and looking like this, well, whoever gets this home is lucky,” he said.
“Don’t sell, stay here forever.”
The 3,200 sq. ft. showhome, located at 1176 Spadina Crescent, is open for viewing seven days a week.
